Railway Exams Guide: RRB NTPC, Group D & ALP Preparation Strategy

Indian Railways is one of the world's largest employers, and its recruitment exams routinely attract over one crore applicants. 1. Know the Major Railway Exams

Many NTPC aspirants clear both CBTs and then fail the typing test (30 wpm English / 25 wpm Hindi). Start practising typing 20 minutes a day from month one. Similarly, ALP aspirants must prepare separately for the Computer-Based Aptitude Test, which requires a minimum score in each test battery.

7. Salary and Career Growth

An NTPC graduate-level post like Station Master starts at Level 6 (₹35,400 basic), which translates to roughly ₹50,000-55,000 in hand with allowances. Group D starts at Level 1 (₹18,000 basic).
