1. Weather — The Daily Condition

Weather is the condition of the atmosphere at a SPECIFIC place and TIME. It can change from hour to hour, day to day.

How Weather Is Measured

'Maximum and minimum temperatures are recorded daily using a MAXIMUM-MINIMUM THERMOMETER. AP's weather data is collected by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) from stations across the state.'

AP Example: 'In Visakhapatnam on a summer day, the maximum temperature might be 36°C, humidity 75%, wind speed 15 km/h from the southwest. The NEXT day could be completely different.'

2. Climate — The Long-Term Pattern

Climate is the AVERAGE weather pattern of a place over MANY years (typically 30+ years).

Common Misconception about Camels

'Camels do NOT store water in their humps! The hump stores FAT. Camels conserve water by producing dry dung, concentrated urine, and they can lose up to 25% of body water (deadly for most mammals) without harm.'
