Revolution (orbits the Sun — 365¼ days → SEASONS). The TILT of Earth's axis (23½°) causes seasons — NOT the changing distance from the Sun. 'When the Northern Hemisphere tilts TOWARD the Sun → SUMMER. When it tilts AWAY → WINTER.'

- 'Seasons are caused by Earth's distance from the Sun' — Seasons are caused by the TILT of Earth's axis (23½°), not distance. The Earth is CLOSEST to the Sun in January (perihelion) — winter in the Northern Hemisphere!

Earth rotates 360° in 24 hours → 15° per hour → 1° in 4 minutes. IST meridian = 82½°E. GMT meridian = 0°. Time difference = 82.5 × 4 = 330 minutes = 5 hours 30 minutes. Therefore, IST = GMT + 5:30. 'When it is 12:00 noon in London (GMT), it is 5:30 PM in India (IST).'
