How toppers play this section
Business Economics under the New Scheme is a different paper from the one older material describes: it is a full 100 marks, Business and Commercial Knowledge is gone, and half the syllabus is now macroeconomics — national income, public finance, money and monetary policy, international trade and the Indian economy. Treat the ten chapters as two halves that are examined differently. The micro half rewards diagram reasoning: almost every question about demand, cost or market form can be answered by drawing the curve and asking what moves and what shifts, which is faster and more reliable than recalling a verbal rule. The macro half rewards definitional precision instead, because its MCQs turn on distinctions that a loose reading erases — GDP against GNP, fiscal deficit against revenue deficit, devaluation against depreciation, a tariff against a quota. Build a distinctions list as you go and revise from that rather than from the chapters. Note also that the 0.25 penalty does not justify skipping: a blind guess on four options carries a positive expected value of +0.0625, so every question is worth an answer.
