How toppers play this section
The distinguishing feature of Advanced Physics is that a single question routinely spans two or three chapters, so chapter-wise mastery is necessary but nowhere near sufficient. Mechanics is the deepest well: Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work-Energy-Power, Rotational Motion and Gravitation together underpin a large share of the paper, and rotational dynamics combined with energy methods is a perennial source of hard problems. Electrostatics and magnetism are treated far more rigorously than in JEE Main, with genuine field integration rather than symmetric special cases. Thermodynamics and Kinetic Theory reward reasoning about processes rather than substituting into formulas. Practise writing the constraint relations and the energy or momentum bookkeeping explicitly, because Advanced problems punish mental shortcuts that work at Main level.
