Sociology is scored on one thing above all: whether the candidate is thinking sociologically or describing competently. Anchor every substantial answer to a named sociologist whose position you could state in one sentence, and set two positions in tension where the question permits. Write Paper I for conceptual precision — exact definitions, correct attribution, the critique that was actually made — and Paper II for analytical lens, applying a Paper I concept explicitly to Indian material. The ten compulsory five-part questions decide 100 marks across both papers and reward definitional exactness, so prepare them deliberately rather than improvising them.
