UPSC CSEReading Comprehension
Reading Comprehension for UPSC CSE
~20–24 CSAT questions from short passages — speed and inference over speed-reading tricks.
📊 ~20–24 Q · ~50–60 marks of CSAT (qualifying, 33% cutoff)
How toppers play this section
CSAT passages are shorter and denser than CLAT's, often on abstract, philosophical or administrative themes rather than pure news. The marks come from correctly identifying the author's main point and valid inferences, not from reading speed alone — a slower, more careful single read usually beats a fast skim followed by re-reading. Since CSAT is purely qualifying, the goal is consistent, reliable accuracy on this section, not maximising score.
