Where is Abu Dhabi? What kind of climate does it have?

Abu Dhabi is the capital of UAE (United Arab Emirates) — a desert region. It has a very hot and dry climate with very little rainfall (less than 100 mm per year). Summers can reach up to 50°C.

How is the rainfall in Kerala different from Abu Dhabi?

Kerala gets very high rainfall — about 3000 mm per year. Abu Dhabi gets very little — less than 100 mm per year. Kerala is one of the rainiest places; Abu Dhabi is one of the driest.

Kerala gets very heavy rain — sloping roofs allow rainwater to slide off quickly and not collect on the roof. Abu Dhabi gets almost no rain, so flat roofs are fine — and they can be used as an extra sitting/sleeping area on cool nights.

People in Abu Dhabi get drinking water mostly from DESALINATION plants — these are factories that take salt water from the sea, remove the salt, and make it drinkable. This is expensive and requires technology. In Kerala, people get water from rivers, wells, and rain — nature provides it freely.

A camel and a coconut tree are adapted to very different environments. Explain how each is suited to its home.

Camel (desert/Abu Dhabi): stores fat in its hump (not water) as energy reserve, can go days without drinking water, long eyelashes and closable nostrils protect from sand, wide padded feet don't sink in sand, light-coloured coat reflects heat. Coconut tree (rainforest/Kerala): tall trunk reaches above other plants for sunlight, flexible trunk bends in strong monsoon winds without breaking, large leaves capture abundant sunlight, roots spread wide in loose wet soil, fruit (coconut) floats — can travel by water to new locations. Both are perfectly adapted to their environments.
