1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Tuition.in ("the Platform"), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our services.

These Terms apply to all users, including students, parents, tutors, educational institutions, and visitors to our platform.

2. Description of Service

Tuition.in is an Indian education platform spanning four product pillars:

• Discovery — verified directory of tutors, schools, colleges, coaching centres, and preschools across Indian cities, with reviews and direct contact channels.
• Courses & live classes — tutors and institutions publish paid live batches, recorded self-paced courses, and free demo lessons; students enrol, attend, pay, and earn certificates through the platform.
• AI learning toolkit — AI-powered tools for students (doubt solver, flashcards, mock tests, adaptive practice, score and rank prediction, writing coach) and for teachers / institutions (rubric generator, quiz generator, lesson plans, OCR grading, exit tickets, peer review).
• Open curriculum content — chapter notes, previous-year question banks (PYQs), sample papers, worksheets, mock tests, and daily practice problems for Indian school boards (CBSE, ICSE, State) and competitive exams (JEE, NEET, UPSC, CAT, GATE, CLAT, IELTS, and more).

Use of any pillar is governed by these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any pillar-specific terms surfaced at the point of use (for example, course enrolment terms shown at checkout).

3. User Accounts and Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To access certain features, you may need to create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.

3.2 Account Security

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• You are responsible for all activities under your account
• Sharing account credentials is prohibited

3.3 Age Requirements

Users under 18 must have parental consent to use our services. Parents are responsible for monitoring their children's use of the platform.

4. User Conduct and Responsibilities

When using Tuition.in, you agree NOT to:

• Provide false or misleading information
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Post offensive, abusive, or inappropriate content
• Harass, threaten, or harm other users
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Scrape or copy content without permission
• Interfere with the platform's operation or security
• Use the platform for commercial spam or solicitation
• Post fake reviews or manipulate ratings

5. Tutor & Institution Profiles

5.1 Profile Requirements

Individual tutors and institutions (schools, colleges, coaching centres, preschools) with a profile on Tuition.in must:

• Provide accurate, truthful information about themselves, their teachers, programs, fees, and credentials.
• Hold the required licences, registrations, and approvals to operate in their category.
• Keep listing information current; respond to student enquiries in a timely manner.
• Comply with all applicable educational regulations, advertising standards, and tax obligations.

5.2 Verification Pipeline

Every profile passes the platform's verification pipeline before going live — automated checks for profile completeness, contact validity, content quality, institutional legitimacy, identity consistency, and live web-search corroboration. Top-tier profiles carry an additional manual editorial seal ("Manually reviewed by Tuition.in") granted by our editors. The pipeline is a platform-level quality check; it does not substitute for the user's own due diligence and does not constitute a guarantee of teaching outcomes.

5.3 Listing Fees

Basic profiles are free. Premium placement, paid promotions, and platform-fee structures for creators are disclosed before any charges are incurred. See Section 16 for course-specific payment and refund terms.

6. Reviews and Ratings

6.1 Review Guidelines

When posting reviews, you must:

• Have genuine experience with the institution
• Provide honest and factual feedback
• Avoid offensive or inappropriate language
• Not post fake or incentivized reviews
• Respect privacy and not share personal information

6.2 Review Moderation

We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove reviews that violate our guidelines or these Terms. Reviews are user opinions and do not represent Tuition.in's views.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

7.1 Our Content

All content on Tuition.in, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of Tuition.in or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 User Content

By submitting content (reviews, photos, etc.), you grant Tuition.in a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display that content on our platform.

7.3 Institutional Content

Institutions retain ownership of their submitted content but grant us permission to display it on our platform for directory purposes.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tuition.in and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
• Damages arising from use or inability to use the platform
• Issues arising from interactions with listed institutions
• Quality or results of educational services obtained through our platform

Maximum Liability: Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Tuition.in, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the platform
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another party
• Content you submit to the platform

11. Third-Party Links and Services

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites (such as institutional websites). We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of these external sites. Accessing them is at your own risk.

12. Termination

12.1 By You

You may stop using our services at any time and request account deletion.

12.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the platform:

• For violation of these Terms
• For fraudulent or illegal activities
• For repeated complaints or policy violations
• At our discretion with or without notice

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. Provisions regarding intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability survive termination.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in [City], India.

15. General Provisions

15.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

15.3 No Waiver

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.

15.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations without restriction.

16. Courses, Payments & Refunds

16.1 Course Marketplace

Tutors and institutions (each, a "Creator") may publish live and self-paced courses on Tuition.in. The Creator sets the price, schedule, curriculum, and admission criteria for each course. Tuition.in acts as the technology and payments platform; the educational service is provided by the Creator.

16.2 Enrolment & Payments

Payments are processed by our payment-gateway partners. Successful payment grants you access to the course as described on its detail page. Indirect taxes (GST) are applied as per applicable Indian law. You agree to the price displayed at checkout; promotional discounts or coupons are subject to their own stated terms.

16.3 Refunds

Each course displays its refund window at the point of enrolment. Refund requests are submitted from your dashboard and routed to the Creator and, when applicable, our support team. Refunds granted are processed to the original payment method, net of any non-recoverable payment-gateway charges and, where applicable, a platform fee disclosed at checkout. Live classes already attended, materials downloaded, or certificates issued may reduce or void refund eligibility.

16.4 Creator Payouts

Creators are paid out on the schedule and split disclosed in the creator agreement. Tuition.in may withhold or claw back payouts where a refund is owed, where a chargeback is filed, where the Creator violates these Terms, or where required by law.

16.5 Conduct in Live Classes

Live class recordings, study materials, and chat logs may be retained for safety, moderation, and dispute-resolution purposes. Harassment, recording without consent, or sharing course materials outside the platform without the Creator's permission is prohibited and may result in suspension.

17. AI Tools & Content

17.1 AI-Generated Output

Tuition.in provides AI-powered tools (doubt solver, study notes, quiz generator, rubric generator, OCR grading, writing coach, lesson-plan generator, and others). AI output is generated by automated systems and may be incomplete or contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it for academic, professional, or grading decisions.

17.2 Acceptable Use

You agree not to use AI tools to:

• Submit content that violates intellectual-property rights, privacy, or applicable law.
• Generate harassing, defamatory, or sexually explicit content involving real people, especially minors.
• Circumvent assessment integrity policies of your school, college, or examining body in ways those policies prohibit.
• Reverse-engineer the underlying models or extract training data.

17.3 Your Content, Our Use

Inputs you submit to AI tools, and the corresponding outputs, may be retained to deliver the service, prevent abuse, debug failures, and improve quality (subject to the Privacy Policy). We do not permit our AI providers to use your inputs to train their public models.

17.4 AI on Public Profile Pages

AI-assisted text on tutor and institution profile pages (such as descriptions and FAQs) is generated from the Creator's own submitted profile fields and, where provided, the Creator's public website. Creators are responsible for the factual accuracy of their profile inputs and for reviewing the generated copy before it goes live.
